A.n.other Barbers commissioned an illustrated mascot to support the shop’s visual identity, with the aim of creating a recognisable character that could extend across signage, merchandise, and all future brand touchpoints.

Role & Responsibility

I worked directly with the business owner as the sole designer and illustrator, owning the project from initial concept through to final artwork. Beyond the initial brief, I proposed a character-led approach that could act as a foundation for future brand extensions.

Approach & Constraints

The visual direction was defined collaboratively, drawing on early 1900s rubber-hose illustration with a contemporary twist. The character was designed with longevity and reproducibility in mind, ensuring it could be applied consistently across signage, print, and merchandise without reliance on complex production.

The Outcome

The mascot is now used within the shop environment and forms the basis for future merchandise and brand extensions. The work established a clear, character-led foundation the business can continue
to build on over time.
